Call for Nominations 2020

HR Indiana SHRM is pleased to announce the 2020 Annual Human Resources Awards call for nominations.  This is an outstanding opportunity to recognize high performing HR professionals, SHRM chapters and volunteers.  The awards are as follows:

  • Chapter of the Year
  • Award for Professional Excellence
  • Volunteer of the Year (Chapter)
  • Volunteer of the Year (State Council)
  • Volunteer of the Year (Conference)
  • Best Chapter Membership Percent Increase (best increase in SHRM membership)
  • Highest SHRM Affiliation Chapter
  • Best Chapter in Percentage Increase in SHRM-certified members

 

Below are the descriptions of the awards and links to access the nomination applications.  Deadline for submissions for the first five awards is July 29, 2020. The remaining awards will be determined via the Quarterly membership report.

 

Award Benefits

  • Winners of the Volunteer of the Year (chapter or SHRM program, state council and state conference committee) and award for Professional Excellence (HR Professional of the Year) will each receive one complimentary 2021 HR Indiana Conference registration (non-transferable).  The winner of the Chapter of the Year award will receive one complimentary 2021 HR Indiana Conference registration to be used at their discretion for the chapter’s benefit.
  • Nominations by Indiana SHRM chapters are also a factor in determining the chapter’s state council revenue share for the year.

 

How to Apply

It’s easy!!! There is no long form to fill out. Just click on the link below for a one-page nomination form. All you really need to do is share your information as nominator and who you are nominating. The nominator provides their contact information. Once we receive the nomination, a member of the Selection Committee will arrange for a time for a call to further the nomination. SO easy!

Chapter of the Year

The Chapter of the Year award recognizes the outstanding achievements in chapter development and contributions to the advancement of effective human resource management.  Nominated chapters must meet the criteria for the SHRM SHAPE Award program at the Bronze level or higher and must submit at least one (1) nomination for either Volunteer Leader of the Year or Award for Professional Excellence.  Nominations should include SHRM SHAPE Award designation and description of new programs or initiatives conducted within the previous 12 months.  Preference is that all materials are submitted electronically. (Click here to apply)

 

Volunteer of the Year (Chapter)

The Volunteer Leader of the Year award recognizes outstanding leadership, motivation, and organizational skills to the development of a Local Chapter, or other SHRM program(s).  Nominations should include detail on the nominee’s volunteer roles and activities, significant contributions, and any unique ideas or programs while in a particular role.  Click here to apply.

 

Volunteer of the Year (State Council)

The Volunteer Leader of the Year (State Council) award recognizes outstanding leadership, motivation, and organizational skills to the development of the Indiana State Council.  Nominations should include detail on the nominee’s volunteer roles and activities, significant contributions, and any unique ideas or programs while in a particular role. Volunteer of the Year (State Conference Committee)

The Volunteer Leader of the Year (State Conference Committee) award recognizes outstanding leadership, motivation, and organizational skills to the development of the State Conference.  Nominations should include detail on the nominee’s volunteer roles and activities, significant contributions, and any unique ideas or programs while in a particular role. Award for Professional Excellence

The Award for Professional Excellence recognizes successful efforts in applying creative management concepts to improve performance, advance the profession, and to promote understanding of Human Resources Management.  Nominations should include detail on the nominee’s years in their organization and position, years in the profession, and a description of the activity that has benefited their organization and profession. The following awards will be determined based on the North Central Quarterly Membership Report.  No need to apply for any of these awards, as they will be calculated by the Nominating Committee:

  • Chapter Membership Percent Increase (best increase in SHRM membership)
  • Highest SHRM Affiliation Chapter
  • Best Chapter in Percentage Increase in SHRM-certified members
