Process:
•  Wednesday, September 11 – applications are due
•  By Thursday, September 26 – interviews will be conducted for qualified candidates
•  By Friday, September 27- the slate of candidates is prepared, selected, and sent for approval to the entire State Council (candidates will be notified if they have been slated for the role or not)
•  By Friday, October 4 – candidates are notified of the election results

College Relations Director

The College Relations Director serves as an elected member of the state council with responsibility to assist and promote student chapter activities throughout the state. The College Relations Director promotes SHRM membership among SHRM student chapters; facilitates and coordinates any state level student events and activities; coordinates various types of student meetings for student chapters within the State; provide direction, assistance, and support of professional development activities within the State SHRM organization; and develops and facilitate communications between SHRM student chapters and the Council.

 

Core Leadership Area Director

The CLA Director works directly with the Diversity, Workforce Readiness, College Relations, Government Affairs, and Communication & Technology CLAs to ensure effectiveness in their roles and provides broad direction and support.

 

District Director South (shadow current District Director in 2025 with movement into role in 2026)

Serves as a council representative of a designated geographical area within a state.  Provides leadership and communication to further the Society’s goals and objectives between existing and future SHRM members and SHRM professional and student chapters.

 

Government Affairs Director (shadow current Government Affairs Director in 2025 with movement into role in 2026)

Provides updates to HR legislation, availability to attend Indiana General Assembly sessions as needed, attend Indiana Chamber Healthcare Policy and Labor Law POlicy Committee meetings, travel to DC to meet with Indiana representatives.

 

Operational Effectiveness Director

Works closely with the council administrator financial and operational matters.  Prepares the proceedings of all state council meetings, takes minutes, maintains records and directs the financial affairs of the council.

 

SHRM Certification Director

The Certification Director promotes professional SHRM certification among SHRM chapters; provide direction, assistance and support of study groups throughout the State.

 

Workforce Readiness Director

The Workforce Readiness Director monitors and evaluates on a continuing basis state and local activities concerning workforce readiness issues and works with chapter workforce readiness advocates to plan and encourage chapter involvement and activities impacting the workforce readiness arena. Presents a report or update to the state council director and members on workforce readiness developments, issues, and/or initiatives.
