FINDING HELP DURING THE CONFERENCE
When you are onsite during the conference, everything you need should be in your Whova app, but we will also have committee members stationed in many locations to help guide you where you need to go. Look for those wearing shirts or vests with the HR Indiana Logo. They will be happy to answer your questions.
DRESS IN LAYERS
You never know what the weather will be like in Indianapolis! But seriously, even though it is August outside, it can sometimes be a little chilly during conference sessions. Dress in layers so you’ll always be prepared! And, if you’re looking for some new layers, check out all the stylish swag the bookstore has to offer.
REGISTRATION/EVENT CHECK IN
If you arrive on Sunday we have early registration! Registration hours on Sunday, August 1, are 3:00 to 6:00 pm. You will find Registration on the Third Floor of the JW Marriott hotel–follow the signs to the registration tables. Monday and Tuesday registration hours are 6:00 am to 5:00 pm.
We will have signage at the check-in as well as specific safety measures in place. Details to follow closer to the conference time.
WIFI AND CONFERENCE APP
We are again offering free WiFi for the conference this year. You’ll see information on how to connect when you arrive.
We are pumped to be powered with the Whova conference app again this year. Get started with the video tutorial, sign in with the email you used to register, and search for “HR Indiana Annual Conference” in the app.
You can follow us on Facebook and Twitter during the conference. On Twitter, add @hrindianashrm. The hashtag for the conference is #HRIndiana. Like us on Facebook (@HR IndianaSHRM).
HUNGRY?
Continental breakfast is available every morning at the conference and lunch is served on Monday and Tuesday in the ballrooms (TBD) at the JW Marriott. Since we are offering earlier sessions this year, we will not be offering Wednesday lunch.
The hotel also has two restaurants on the first level and a Starbucks on the second floor. Looking for some of our local fare? Check out this list of Indy’s top 25 local eateries, bars, and coffee houses: https://www.visitindy.com/indianapolis-indys-top-25-local-restaurants
SPEAKER SURVEY INCENTIVES
Your feedback on our conference speakers is critical to the success of our event each year, and we are making it easy for you to speak your mind! Within the Whova conference app, you may rate each speaker on a 5-star rating scale at the end of each session. Better yet, each time you rate a speaker, your name is entered into a daily drawing for prizes!
Day 1: a free book from the HR Indiana SHRM Bookstore
Day 2: a $30 credit in the bookstore
Day 3: free registration to the 2022 HR Indiana Conference
So please review speakers every chance you get! We appreciate your feedback.
SPEAKER HANDOUTS
We will be uploading several speaker handouts on our Whova app. Please make sure to download the app prior to the conference. Keep checking for additions. Remember, we are offering free WiFi at the conference again this year, so you can download them on your smartphone or tablet.
SHRM – NATIONAL AND LOCAL CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP
Membership in SHRM continues to grow globally as HR professionals experience the benefits of being a part of the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management. But the fact is that there are resources and services available through your local SHRM chapter that SHRM can’t provide.
Visit the HR Indiana SHRM Membership booth, located on the third floor of the JW Marriott, next to the SHRM Bookstore during the HR Indiana Conference and learn more about being a member of your local chapter and win great prizes!
CERTIFICATION CREDITS
The conference has been approved for PDCs with SHRM for SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certification holders and with HRCI for PHR, SPHR, and GPHR recertification credits. More details to come closer to conference time!
CHARGING STATIONS
Stop by the Connection Central lounge (place TBD) to recharge your batteries (your cell phone as well as your internal batteries!).
