The Numbers Are In…
We are SUPER excited to announce that HR Indiana has grown by 5.6% over 2017, which represents an additional 103 HR Professionals who have joined a location Chapter. Many kudos go out to Evansville Area HRA for their tremendous growth in 2018. I am sure they have some awesome best practices to share with all of us!
With 2018 behind us, now we charge forward into 2019 and begin our Membership initiatives. Our goal for 2019 is to grow by 7%, or 136 Chapter members. I know we can do it, there is a lot of opportunity within the Indiana at-large community (roughly 3,600 members) as well as working with our students and student chapters.
HR Indiana VLS
I can’t wait to see everyone in a few weeks at the Annual HR Indiana VLS. There will be two MEMBERSHIP break-out sessions offered during VLS as well as a round table discussion. Please be sure to send a representative from your Chapter so we can all share best practices on membership.

I am still looking for Member Spotlights to include in the HR Indiana all member newsletter. I will be hitting you up at VLS if you have not already reached out to me. This is a great way to showcase your members and volunteers.

That’s why we developed the SHRM Volunteer eLearning portal. This new resource was designed to help you manage the responsibilities and challenges of leading a SHRM chapter or state council. This portal, created with you in mind, now offers courses on Leadership, Communications, The Fundamentals of Running a Nonprofit and more.
And we’re just getting started! We will continue to offer new content in the coming months to help you tackle your volunteer leader role and transfer your skills and knowledge to the workplace.
