Thanks to our former State Workforce Readiness Director, Cyndi Harbin, Dr. Cynthia Crowder of Indiana State University, and our State Council we are midway through an online survey underway given to all of our chapter members from our chapter leadership.
This statewide project will help us to learn more about hiring decisions within the State of Indiana, specifically the hiring of ex-offenders. The project includes a 28-item survey that measures current hiring practices of employers across that state as well as HR professionals’ understanding of employer incentives/benefits associated with hiring practices of ex-offenders through state and federal legislation (Next Level Indiana and Second Chance Act).
Participants will have until March 26th to complete the survey. All responses to the survey will remain anonymous; however, if interested, participants can elect to participate in a second stage that would include a semi-structured interview process to further investigate what factors contribute to their hiring practices.
