Q: Why did you get into HR?
A: I wanted to help people! I felt that assisting people in finding employment, providing tools, and being a valuable resource for them to be successful was the best means of accomplishing this goal.
Q: What do you love most about your job?
A: I love the ability to change and impact a person’s life. It is an amazing feeling to take someone from being an applicant to a working associate so they can have the capability to take care of themselves and their families.
Q; What is a professional challenge you faced and overcame?
A: I’ve overcome the professional challenge of working independently on site in my last two HR roles. This enhances my personal accountability, time management capabilities, organization, and the ability to prioritize my day efficiently.
Q: Why is SHRM membership important to you?
A: I feel that the Michiana SHRM Chapter is a great means of networking, being surrounded by fellow HR professionals, amazing learning potential, and an opportunity for professional and self growth. Being a SHRM member has broadened my professional skill set and keeps me up to date on changing HR policies and procedures.
Q: Who or what inspires you?
A: My son inspires me. He is an amazing artist, very intuitive, articulate, and goal oriented. He is my biggest accomplishment!
