Inclusion, Equity, & Diversity: Reframing the DEI Trinity in Today’s Workplace
Submitted by Kristen Lampkin, HR Indiana SHRM Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity Director
Recently SHRM’s CEO and President, Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., shared SHRM’s focus on moving to Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity (IE&D) rather than the conventional “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” (DE&I). This change is intentional, reflecting our evolving understanding of what these principles mean and how they function in today’s business landscape.

Diversity: Broadening the Meaning
Equity: Equal Opportunity, Not Identical Outcomes
Inclusion: The Cornerstone of Our IE&D Approach
