Did you know that every year ASALH (Association for the Study of African American Life and History) sets a theme for Black History Month? The 2023 theme is Black Resistance, click the link to learn more.
We wanted to share ways to celebrate and honor Black History Month:
- Bring in speakers and create a space for people to listen and share
- Volunteer with a Black-led nonprofit
- Amplify Black voices on social media
- Support Black-Owned Businesses (click the link to access Black-owned businesses in Indy)
- Organize a Diversity and Inclusion Even
- Support Black Art and Artists
Here are a few events taking place in Indiana:
- Kick-Off to Black History Month Celebration, Muncie, IN
- Black History Month Celebration, Mishawaka, IN
- Black History Month: Cultural Intelligence, Fort Wayne, IN
- Celebrate Black History in Indianapolis and Black History month activities for your family
